COVESA, the Connected Vehicle Systems Alliance, is an open global community bringing together organizations across the automotive industry to advance connected vehicle technologies and standards. Its members collaborate on shared approaches and innovative systems that address the opportunities and challenges of automotive digital transformation. Through working groups and projects, COVESA supports interoperability and a more diverse, sustainable, and integrated mobility ecosystem.

Key initiatives include the Vehicle Signal Specification (VSS), which aims to make vehicle data more consistent and usable across the industry; work on commercial and fleet vehicle telematics; and an Android Automotive Open Source Project (AOSP) app framework focused on shared guidelines, APIs, and reference implementations. These efforts aim to reduce development costs, speed time to market, and enable broader compatibility.

COVESA offers membership and startup programs, technical resources through its wiki and GitHub, member communication through Slack, and a calendar of collaborative meetings. It also hosts member events, publishes industry news and profiles, and invites developers and organizations to contribute to its work.
