Covini Engineering is an Italian automotive company founded in 1978 by engineer Ferruccio Covini. It is a specialist, artisanal manufacturer focused on developing innovative vehicle prototypes, with a history of experimental designs and distinctive engineering concepts. Its best-known creation is the Covini C6W, described as the world’s first six-wheel supercar.
The six-wheel layout is designed to improve road holding, braking power, tire contact, steering precision, front-end aerodynamics and ride comfort. The company’s earlier prototypes include the B24 Turbocooler, a mid-engined coupé introduced in 1981 and described as the first road diesel car to exceed 200 km/h, and the C36 Turbotronic, an experimental sports car introduced in 1998 and noted for its common-rail diesel engine. Covini’s listed vehicles also include the T40 and T44.
In addition to developing cars, the company offers consultancy services and presents its engineering work through a gallery, press coverage and news. Covini Engineering is seeking a company to take on the C6W project, which it says exceeds its current production capacity
