About Cowboy Artists of America
The Cowboy Artists of America (CAA) is an organization dedicated to preserving and perpetuating the culture of Western life through fine art and authentic storytelling. Founded in 1965 by Joe Beeler, Charlie Dye, John Hampton, and George Phippen, it brings together artists committed to traditional craftsmanship and Western heritage. CAA shares members’ work with the public through exhibitions and art sales, including its annual show, and hosts workshops featuring live artist demonstrations. Its annual trail ride brings members together at working ranches for riding, work, camaraderie, and connection to the Western lifestyle.
Education and support for emerging artists are also central to the organization’s activities. The Joe Beeler Foundation, a nonprofit 501(c)(3), supports educational efforts through workshops, presentations, scholarships, mentoring, and other initiatives. CAA also encourages young people to explore Western themes through an annual youth art contest. Visitors can learn about membership, attend events, view news, or support the organization through donations and sponsorships.
