Why We Built CPD Hero We love to travel. We love to learn. We also need time to recharge properly from our demanding careers. What I particularly value is spending quality time with other likeminded anaesthetists—the real conversations, the shop talk, the stories that don't make it into the large conferences. For most of us, those things exist separately. You attend a conference (crowded, anonymous, a bit exhausting). You travel for pleasure (separate trip, separate budget). You catch up with colleagues (rare, usually at the hospital between lists). And when CPD shifted to 50 mandatory hours per year in Australia and New Zealand—moving from the old triennium cycle—you were compelled to chase multiple events across the year to satisfy the requirements. Different locations, different times, competing priorities. There had to be a better way. So we built it. What If It All Came Together? A week where you get to learn in a refreshing style—ANZCA-accredited CPD across all the categories that matter. Where the faculty aren't distant lecturers but peers you can genuinely connect with. Where mornings are structured and afternoons are yours to recharge, to be with your family, to just be. Where the destination is somewhere genuinely wonderful—the best hotels, the best time of year—because where you spend your time matters. And where, at the end, half your CPD requirement for the year is simply solved. Attend 2 of our 3 annual retreats and you are covered. CPD Hero – Inaugural Retreat Regent Phu Quoc. 40 anaesthetists. 5 excellent speakers. Rigorous mornings, free afternoons. Families welcome. Designed for Anaesthesia Care Providers who refuse to compromise on learning, travel, wellbeing, or where they need to be.

About CPDHero
CPDHero creates continuing professional development retreats for anaesthetists who want to stay clinically engaged while making time to recharge. Its five-day programs combine accredited learning, expert speakers and relevant professional content with the restorative appeal of exceptional destinations. Each event offers 25 CPD hours and is limited to 40 participants, encouraging meaningful connections, open discussion and time for questions beyond the lecture room.
Designed to offer more than a traditional conference, CPDHero retreats balance purposeful mornings with afternoons for guests to enjoy their surroundings. Partners and family are welcome, making the experience suitable for combining professional development with quality time together. The brand was founded by Dr. Chris Bonney, an anaesthetist, and co-founded with Keilah Q, who leads creative direction, marketing and guest experience.
CPDHero’s inaugural retreat is planned for January 2027 at the Regent Phu Quoc in Vietnam. The brand also plans a member portal featuring exclusive content, retreat resources, event updates and community benefits.
