The Conference of Peripheral Maritime Regions (CPMR) is a collaborative organization that unites over 150 regions across 24 states within the European Union and beyond, representing approximately 200 million people. Established in 1973, the CPMR acts as both a think tank and a lobbying entity dedicated to promoting balanced territorial development in Europe. It engages actively with EU institutions and national governments to ensure the needs and interests of its member regions are reflected in policies that impact them significantly.

The CPMR focuses on a range of critical areas including social, economic, and territorial cohesion, maritime policies and blue growth, accessibility, European governance, and climate change. Additionally, it champions initiatives around migration management and gender-related issues. The association operates through six geographical commissions corresponding to Europe's maritime basins, allowing for targeted advocacy and cooperation on regional issues. Through its extensive network, the CPMR fosters collaboration, shares knowledge, and drives policy advancements that benefit its diverse membership.
