About CPRA
The Chronic Pain Research Alliance (CPRA) is an initiative of The TMJ Association, Ltd., a nonprofit, tax-exempt organization. It works to improve the lives of people affected by Chronic Overlapping Pain Conditions (COPCs), which can involve multiple pain conditions and affect individuals, families, health care systems, and society. CPRA aims to raise awareness of the challenges surrounding COPCs, including misdiagnosis, limited coordinated care, and insufficient research investment.
The alliance provides educational resources on COPCs, covering their prevalence, symptoms, quality-of-life and economic impacts, and FDA-approved treatments. It also shares information about research studies, new findings, and opportunities to participate in research. Through advocacy resources and activities, CPRA works to encourage progress in research and care, and invites patients, loved ones, clinicians, scientists, companies, research agencies, advocacy organizations, and legislators to contribute to change.
CPRA’s website offers information about its mission, leadership, scientific advisors, and ways to join or support its work, including donations. Its content is for general information and is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
