The Calheiros Parish and Social Center is a private social solidarity institution serving people and families in the parish through individualized, community-focused care. Guided by values of human, Christian, and social solidarity, it works to support residents whose circumstances make it difficult to meet basic needs or manage everyday activities, temporarily or on an ongoing basis. Its services include home support and a social gathering center, with assistance tailored to each person’s needs.

Home support covers freshly prepared meals, personal and household hygiene, laundry, socialization and recreation, help accessing goods and services, and accompanied transport to medical appointments and examinations. The center also provides afternoon snacks, transport between participants’ homes and its premises, and sociocultural activities, including recreational, cognitive-stimulation, and religious programs intended to promote wellbeing. By offering practical help both at home and in a shared setting, the institution aims to support older people and families while helping them maintain daily routines and connections with the community. The center publishes financial statements and welcomes inquiries by telephone or email.
