About CRAFT Animfest
**CRAFT International Animation Festival (CRAFT Animfest)** is Asia's premier festival dedicated to celebrating traditional animation techniques, including stop motion, classic drawing, painting, and sand animation. As the first festival in Southeast Asia to showcase contemporary artistic animation—ranging from traditional to digital methods—CRAFT Animfest emphasizes the significance of preserving these classic forms in a technologically driven landscape. Established in 2017, this biennial event occurs every odd year, coinciding with World Animation Day on October 28.
CRAFT Animfest serves as a vibrant platform for artists and festival attendees to engage creatively and exchange ideas. The festival features competitions in various categories, including the International Competition for Stop-Motion & Traditional Techniques, Southeast Asia Competition, and a Short for Kids Competition. With open submissions from January to March and affordable entry fees, CRAFT Animfest invites filmmakers to submit their original works and contribute to the rich tapestry of animation culture in Southeast Asia.
