CRAS Rimini is a wildlife rescue and rehabilitation centre dedicated to protecting wild animals in Romagna. Managed by Atena ODV, it receives animals that are injured or in difficulty, provides care and rehabilitation, and aims to return them to their natural habitat. Each year, the centre helps thousands of animals. Its service operates under agreement with the Emilia-Romagna Region, covering wildlife collection and care across Rimini province and specified areas of Forlì-Cesena province. It also accepts wildlife from San Marino.
The centre’s work is supported by two organisations with distinct roles. Atena focuses on animal care, while Anpana leads environmental education, public awareness about wildlife protection, and related events. CRAS Rimini also offers educational activities and promotes opportunities to contribute through volunteering, donations, the 5×1000 tax allocation, and regional and universal civil service programmes. The centre provides guidance for people who find injured or vulnerable wildlife and encourages them to get in touch promptly. Through rescue, rehabilitation, education, and community involvement, CRAS Rimini works to safeguard local wildlife.
