Create Austin is a creative-sector initiative programmed and produced by the Long Center for the Performing Arts. Building on the belief that creativity should be accessible to everyone, it works to strengthen Austin’s arts and cultural communities through practical support, shared resources, and opportunities for collaboration. The initiative welcomes artists, musicians, arts organizations, cultural sites, educators, and others involved in the city’s creative life.

In partnership with the City of Austin, Create Austin administers funding programs through the Austin Office of Arts, Culture, Music, and Entertainment. Its grant portfolio includes the Austin Live Music Fund, Creative Space Assistance Program, Elevate, Nexus, Thrive, and Heritage Preservation grants. The organization helps applicants and awardees navigate grant information and provides updates on agreements, payments, and grant-funded events.

Create Austin also convenes the Creative Consortium, where arts organizations can share ideas, pool resources, and strengthen their collective voice. Through these services, it aims to foster an equitable, inclusive, and sustainable creative ecosystem, helping Austin’s cultural communities build connections and continue their work.
