Creative Wondering

Creative Wondering is a freelance environmental education practice focused on expanding the reach of learning about the natural world. The brand develops custom lessons, activities, and educational materials that combine creativity and a sense of wonder with relevant learning standards. Its work is designed around each client’s needs and the outdoor space available, helping educators connect nature-based experiences with classroom learning.

Creative Wondering emphasizes student-centered, inquiry-based education. Rather than prescribe a single approach, it encourages learners to follow their curiosity and observations, using nature as a setting for exploration. Its services include program development and facilitation, outreach and educational content, customized lesson creation, and illustrated signage. Materials can be aligned with Washington State Environmental and Sustainability Education goals, the Next Generation Science Standards, and Common Core.

As a freelance educator, Creative Wondering offers flexibility in developing tailored solutions and scheduling work to suit a project’s timing. The practice aims to make environmental education engaging, practical, and adaptable for the communities and learning environments it serves.
