Creekside Nature School

Creekside Nature School is an outdoor early-learning program focused on the development of the whole child—head, heart, and hands. Its mission is to give children time for authentic play, nurture relationships, and foster a lasting love of learning through a child-led, interest-based curriculum. Teachers support children’s questions and discoveries with gentle guidance, helping them build knowledge through hands-on exploration.

Operating on a school-year schedule, Creekside offers classes two days per week, with Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday options. Learning takes place in a natural, local setting and supports areas including literacy, mathematics, science, creative arts, social skills, emotional awareness, and physical competence. Place-based activities help children observe local plants and wildlife, notice seasonal changes, and develop care for their environment.

The campus features walking trails, animals, gardens, and a creek habitat. Children hike, garden, observe nature, create mud-kitchen projects, and play outdoors in varied weather. Creekside supplies weather-appropriate outerwear and is recognized by the National Wildlife Federation as a Certified Wildlife Habitat.
