CREIAMO Project

CREIAMO is a pioneering initiative dedicated to promoting the circular economy within the olive oil and wine sectors. This project addresses contemporary challenges by focusing on innovative strategies to valorize agricultural by-products and residues, enhancing sustainability within these crucial industries. CREIAMO aims to develop new business models that not only improve the economic viability of olive oil and wine production but also bolster the competitiveness of companies, particularly within the Lombardia region.

Core objectives include the creation of high-value products like bio-surfactants from industrial waste, which can also be utilized for soil remediation. The project employs a multi-disciplinary approach, incorporating insights from microbiology, food science, engineering, and economics to foster eco-innovation. By promoting industrial symbiosis, CREIAMO facilitates collaborations that yield mutual economic and environmental benefits. Additionally, the initiative supports young researchers and emphasizes the importance of Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI), ensuring that advancements are disseminated effectively among stakeholders and local communities.
