CRIA, the Centro de Recuperação e Integração de Abrantes, is a Portuguese organisation dedicated to building the capacity and promoting the social inclusion of people with disabilities. Founded in 1977, it provides tailored support through a range of social, educational, rehabilitation and community services, delivered by a dedicated team. Its services include activity and inclusion centres in Abrantes and Mação, professional rehabilitation, resources for inclusive education, special and educational support, and early intervention.
CRIA also offers social and community intervention, support related to the Social Integration Income programme and food assistance, as well as residential homes in both locations. Alongside these services, the organisation provides rehabilitation activities, adapted sport, leisure and therapeutic activities. Its projects and initiatives include A Caminho do Mar and social entrepreneurship.
CRIA’s work aims to support participation, development and everyday wellbeing, while creating opportunities for people to engage with their communities. With its headquarters in Abrantes and a unit in Mação, CRIA serves individuals and families through locally based services and activities
