The Italian Red Cross – Avola Committee is a local humanitarian organisation serving Avola and nearby communities. For more than 80 years, it has worked to protect health and life, support social inclusion, prepare residents for emergencies, and provide assistance when crises occur. The committee also shares practical first-aid guidance and emergency-preparedness resources to help people respond to situations such as cardiac emergencies, choking, bleeding, earthquakes, and floods.
Residents can support its work through donations, including Italy’s 5×1000 tax contribution, or by becoming volunteers. The committee is based at Via Santa Lucia 86, Avola, and can be reached by phone or email for information and assistance.
