Elle dispose d’un laboratoire spécialisé dans les analyses de radioactivité qui réalise des études et expertises pour le compte de collectivités, d’industriels, de tribunaux, d’associations et de particuliers. Ces études concernent la radioactivité naturelle, l’impact des installations nucléaires, l’exposition aux rayonnements ionisants dans le domaine médical et industriel. La CRIIRAD milite pour le respect du droit à l’information et l’obtention d’une réelle protection. Elle œuvre pour que chacune et chacun dispose des moyens et des connaissances suffisantes et nécessaires pour se prémunir et agir en conséquence. Elle produit et diffuse des informations indépendantes des autorités et des industriels, sur la base de ses recherches et des résultats issus de son laboratoire scientifique.
