Croce Rossa Italiana

Croce Rossa Italiana – Comitato di Mortara is a nonprofit volunteer organization serving the local community from its base in Mortara, with an additional site in Cilavegna. Its work extends beyond ambulance services, combining health support, training and practical assistance for people in need. The committee provides ambulance transport for patients, transport for people with disabilities, medical assistance at sporting events and public gatherings, and telesurveillance services. It also distributes food aid and offers accompanying support to help people facing hardship; in 2022, it reported distributing 2,270 food parcels to 624 people through the European Fund for Aid to the Most Deprived programme.

The committee runs courses in semi-automatic defibrillator use, pediatric choking response, general first aid for students and the public, and workplace first aid in accordance with Italian Legislative Decree 81/2008. Its Mortara Cardio-Protected initiative promotes round-the-clock access to defibrillators at strategic locations and protected sports facilities. The organization invites residents to become members, volunteer, or contribute donations to help sustain its community services.
