The Conflict Information Consortium (CIC), founded in 1988 by Guy and Heidi Burgess at the University of Colorado, is a pioneering multi-disciplinary center dedicated to the study and transformation of conflict. Utilizing the digital landscape since its inception, CIC has created influential knowledge bases, such as CRInfo and Beyond Intractability, to compile and disseminate extensive resources related to conflict resolution. With over 1,000 articles authored by more than 500 contributors, CIC engages scholars and practitioners to address both common and complex intractable conflicts that challenge societies.
The consortium's initiatives include the "Moving Beyond Intractability" project, which aims to empower individuals to navigate and resolve deep-seated conflicts, and the Constructive Conflict Initiative, advocating for collaborative problem-solving and constructive advocacy strategies. CIC's online seminars and resources, including blogs and educational materials, strive to educate and inspire individuals to take proactive roles in conflict resolution efforts, promoting a more peaceful and equitable society.
