Crisis Rescue Foundation (CRF) is a UK-based charitable initiative founded in spring 2020 by experienced GP Dr Sharon Raymond. Established during the COVID-19 crisis, it has provided personal protective equipment to NHS and other frontline professionals and developed practical health and wellbeing projects in response to gaps in care, both in the UK and internationally.
CRF’s services and programmes have included the Covid Cab Service, a Pulse Oximeter Delivery Service, the Vaxi Taxi Health and Wellbeing Pop Ups, and medical support initiatives for people affected by crises. The pulse oximeter service delivered approximately 5,000 probes to patients’ homes across London between 2020 and 2024. Vaxi Taxi pop-ups bring health checks, information and signposting into communities, particularly supporting people facing barriers to accessing NHS and allied care.
The foundation also runs a free, virtual UK Medical School Elective Programme for trainee and qualified doctors around the world, including those displaced by conflict. Its work includes lectures, peer support and clinical placements, alongside projects supporting clinicians in Uganda, India, Ukraine and Sudan.
