Critical Duck Studios is an independent game development studio focused on creating playful, polished digital experiences. The studio emphasizes intrinsic fun, smooth performance, and sustainable code designed to last, while giving careful attention to every aspect of a project. Its work includes Pupilletjes, a serious virtual reality game developed for Bartiméus, a Dutch diagnostic center specializing in rare visual disorders.

In the game, players take the role of an eye researcher, helping aliens who have crash-landed in a pond by fishing them out and performing eye examinations. Once on land, the aliens build structures for their celebrations. Designed for young adults with rare visual disorders, the game is stationed at Bartiméus and was created to help ease the tension some visitors may feel when attending the center.
