Cri Tortona

The Italian Red Cross Committee of Tortona is a local humanitarian organization serving Tortona and the surrounding area, with delegations in San Sebastiano Curone and Castelnuovo Scrivia. As part of the Italian Red Cross, it works to support health, social welfare, emergency response, and the promotion of humanitarian principles and values. Its services include ambulance and related transport, first aid, nursing clinic services, and healthcare assistance at public events and sports gatherings.

The committee also provides workplace safety training, pediatric life-saving skills instruction, and training in the use of semi-automatic defibrillators. Its health education activities encourage healthy lifestyles, while social programs help people meet basic needs. In emergencies, the committee organizes local response activities and operates a local control room, alongside specialist rescue services.

Further initiatives include road safety education, activities for children and older adults, youth engagement, and voluntary blood donation promotion. The organization also welcomes volunteers and invites community support through donations and Italy’s five-per-thousand tax contribution scheme
