The Classic Racing Motorcycle Club (CRMC) was founded in 1979 by Alan Cathcart, his wife Stella, and Dick Linton. It all began with Alan's original Matchless G50, which he rode again during the club's 30th year celebrations at Snetterton. The CRMC was born out of a desire to provide a platform for racing classic motorcycles that were too young for the Vintage Club but not suitable for modern racing circuits.
Despite initial challenges and skepticism, Alan's determination and the support of his wife and friend led to the establishment of the CRMC. The club aims to preserve and celebrate the bikes of the Classic era, which are newer, faster, and more practical than Vintage bikes. They offer a range of services, including live timing, eligibility documents, paraders' information, and race results.
With over 30 years of existence, the CRMC has become a thriving community, catering to postwar racing and sporting motorcycles built until 1972 when the two-stroke revolution took hold. Join the CRMC to experience the excitement of classic motorcycle racing and be part of this passionate and dedicated community
