Crohn's and Colitis Relief

Crohn’s and Colitis Relief (CCR) is a UK charity providing free support to people affected by Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, other forms of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), and related conditions. Established to improve quality of life, the organization focuses particularly on the Jewish Ashkenazi community, while offering help to people who need it. Its volunteer support workers help patients and families understand a diagnosis, answer questions, and find further sources of assistance.

From its base in Salford and Greater Manchester, CCR provides confidential one-to-one advice through a dedicated hotline, as well as advocacy and practical casework. Services include hospital visits, food parcels, help with Disability Living Allowance and Personal Independence Payment applications, and referrals to NHS, statutory, and voluntary-sector services. A buddy and mentoring programme aims to reduce isolation and build confidence, resilience, and independence. CCR also brings patients from Manchester and London together for educational events with medical professionals, consultants, and specialist dietitians, covering IBD, treatment, nutrition, and available support.
