Crosse-Arme is the professional gunsmithing workshop of Eric Sadoul, based in Alès, France. Serving hunters and shooting enthusiasts, the business specializes in the repair and renovation of firearms, along with the handmade creation of custom stocks for rifles and shotguns. Work is carried out on site without subcontracting, with each project shaped around the customer’s needs and preferences.
Services include restoring damaged or worn stocks, reshaping rifle grips for improved handling, checking firearm fit, and transforming short fore-ends into longer Stutzen-style designs. Customers can also commission a new stock from an illustration and choose suitable wood, commonly French or Turkish walnut. Restoration can involve sanding, waterproofing, refinishing, and recutting the stock’s checkering. Finish options include oil, French polishing, and cellulose varnish.
Crosse-Arme also provides advice and estimates for custom work, helping clients select materials and dimensions. The workshop emphasizes hand-finished craftsmanship, practical comfort, and the appearance of each firearm. Eric Sadoul also offers renovation services at the Pech’Evasion store in Saint-Christol-lès-Alès on Tuesdays and Fridays.
