About Croucher Foundation
Croucher Foundation is an independent private foundation that has been promoting the standard of natural sciences, technology, and medicine in Hong Kong since its establishment in 1979 by the late Noel Croucher. This foundation is recognized for its significant work in five main areas. Firstly, they provide scholarships and fellowships to promising young scientists and medical doctors in Hong Kong, enabling them to pursue research opportunities abroad.
Secondly, they offer research fellowships that support scientists in Hong Kong to explore new ideas and engage in groundbreaking work. Moreover, the foundation organizes conferences, workshops, and collaborative research programs that facilitate the exchange of ideas between Hong Kong scientists and their international counterparts. Additionally, they conduct demonstration lectures to promote science education among school and undergraduate students in Hong Kong.
Lastly, the Croucher Foundation extends support to any undergraduate or postgraduate student in Hong Kong facing sudden financial difficulties. The foundation's governance is entrusted to a Board of Trustees, with distinguished individuals such as Nobel Laureate Lord Todd and current Chairman Sir Gregory Winter CBE FRS FMedSci leading the organization. With their dedication to advancing scientific knowledge and supporting young talent, Croucher Foundation continues to make significant contributions to the fields of science, technology, and medicine in Hong Kong
