Crown Vinyl is an iPhone and iPad app designed to help record collectors catalog their vinyl and understand its value. The app identifies a specific pressing by scanning its barcode, capturing details such as year, label, country, and catalog number. For records without barcodes, users can photograph the sleeve for identification. They can also photograph the sleeve and both sides of the disc so Crown Vinyl can grade condition using the Goldmine 8-point scale.

Pricing is based on sale comparisons for the exact pressing and condition, rather than broad averages across different editions. Each saved record includes the user’s photos and can be organized, searched, and tracked as market values change. Search options include artist, year, label, country, color, and pressing plant. Collections sync through the cloud across devices and are private by default, with users controlling whether to share them publicly.

Crown Vinyl is free to download, with the first 10 record saves included. Additional saves are available through credit packs; the app has no subscription or ads.
