The California Resource Recovery Association (CRRA, founded 1974) is California’s statewide recycling association. It is the oldest and one of the largest non-profit recycling organizations in the United States. A 501(C)3 organization, CRRA is dedicated to achieving environmental sustainability in and beyond California through Zero Waste strategies including product stewardship, waste prevention, reuse, recycling and composting. CRRA provides its members with resources to advance local, regional and statewide waste reduction efforts which result in critical environmental and climate protection outcomes. CRRA’s members represent all aspects of California’s reduce-reuse-recycle-compost economy. Our members work for cities, counties, municipal districts, and businesses as well as hauling companies, material processors, non-profit organizations, state agencies, and allied professionals.

About California Resource Recovery Association
California Resource Recovery Association (CRRA) is California's leading recycling association, founded in 1974. As one of the largest non-profit recycling organizations in the United States, CRRA is dedicated to achieving environmental sustainability through various Zero Waste strategies such as waste prevention, product stewardship, recycling, reuse, and composting. CRRA offers its members a wide range of resources to promote waste reduction efforts at the local, regional, and state levels.
Its members represent the entire reduce-reuse-recycle-compost economy of California, including cities, counties, municipal districts, businesses, hauling companies, material processors, non-profit organizations, state agencies, and allied professionals. Members are encouraged to participate in technical councils, which provide opportunities to contribute to key policy issues and develop services in specific areas of interest. Geographically-based districts elect directors to serve on the state Board of Directors, ensuring effective representation across the state.
CRRA also plays an active role in policy development, advocating for sustainable waste management practices and supporting members by representing their concerns to state agencies and the Legislature.
