CR Salmon Foundation

The Campbell River Salmon Foundation (CRSF) is a registered charity and nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting salmon enhancement and conservation in Campbell River and surrounding watersheds. Since 2007, it has raised more than $1.4 million in local community funds, reinvesting the money in projects across the area from the Oyster River watershed to the Salmon River watershed and adjacent mainland coast.

The Foundation funds work focused on habitat restoration, research and monitoring, and education and outreach. Supported initiatives include salmon population studies, monitoring improvements, and the protection and restoration of important habitats. CRSF also provides funding to local organizations and projects working to benefit salmon and their ecosystems.

Community fundraising is central to its work. The Foundation raises much of its support through an annual dinner and auction, and invites people to contribute directly, donate auction items or experiences, pursue sponsorship opportunities, or include CRSF in estate planning. Its annual gala takes place on the second Saturday of March, bringing the community together to support local salmon conservation.
