Crux Climbing

Crux Climbing is a Bristol-based community interest company that uses outdoor climbing to support wellbeing, confidence and connection. The organisation sees climbing as more than a sport: it offers opportunities to build physical strength, develop emotional and practical skills, enjoy time in nature and form supportive relationships. Its approach is inclusive, welcoming people with different abilities, backgrounds and body types.

Crux Climbing provides climbing sessions and programmes for young people, including group and individual options shaped around each participant’s needs. Sessions help participants learn outdoor climbing skills, use equipment safely, explore new places and manage feelings such as stress or fear. The organisation supplies the climbing equipment; participants need only comfortable clothes and lunch. Young people can meet an instructor before joining a group, and Crux stays in touch after programmes to support ongoing climbing goals.

The Vertical Futures programme is intended for eligible young people, with group sessions running over three weeks and individual sessions arranged according to need. Free sessions are offered when funding permits.
