Corrib Rowing & Yachting Club (CRYC) is a longstanding boating club in Galway City, founded in 1864 and recognised as one of Ireland’s oldest clubs. Set beside the Salmon Weir on the River Corrib, it welcomes a broad range of boating interests, including cruising, rowing, fishing, powerboating and pleasure craft. The club supports members with facilities at its comfortable, well-equipped clubhouse, which includes workshops, changing rooms and showers. The original clubhouse was built in 1902 and replaced by the current building in 1993, following decades of investment and work by members.
CRYC hosts club activities and events, including the Cong–Galway Sailing Race, which brings boats down the river into Galway and concludes at the club. Its website also features information about cruisers, day boats, rowing, boats ashore, club documents, membership fees, events and a gallery. The club is based at Earls Island on Distillery Road, Newcastle, Galway. Membership is currently closed, and CRYC is not operating a waiting list; updates will be posted when membership reopens.
