Cyber Security Excellence Centre (CSEC) is dedicated to strengthening cyber security in Bosnia and Herzegovina. As part of the Criminal Policy Research Centre, CSEC's mission is to serve as a neutral point for systematic response to cyber incidents, supporting the development and improvement of cyber security in the region. With the backing of the UK Government, CSEC aims to establish an academic and sustainable Cyber security incident response team (CSIRT) to address the country's cybersecurity needs.

Bosnia and Herzegovina currently lacks an all-encompassing CSIRT, leaving the government, economy, and citizens vulnerable to cyber threats. CSEC aims to bridge this gap and become the country's CSIRT of last resort, providing active and effective response to cyber security incidents. Through its academic foundation, CSEC also seeks to build links with the private sector and contribute to the development of the cybersecurity workforce in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
