Camino Pilgrim

The Confraternity of St James (CSJ) is a UK registered charity that promotes pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela and supports people preparing to walk the Camino. It also encourages awareness of historic and contemporary pilgrim routes in the British Isles. The organisation provides information, guidance and practical support for pilgrims, including advice on routes, preparation, pilgrim conduct and the Compostela. It explains how to obtain a credencial, or pilgrim passport, used for access to pilgrim accommodation and to help qualify for the certificate of completion.

Through its website and services, the CSJ offers guidebooks and maps for routes in Spain, Portugal, the UK and elsewhere, as well as pilgrim passports, memberships and other Camino-related items. It operates or supports hostels in Spain and provides information about accommodation. Members and visitors can take part in events, local regional groups and online gatherings, and access the organisation’s library and pilgrimage resources. The CSJ also welcomes volunteers and donations to support its charitable work and specific projects.
