About CST
Community Security Trust (CST) is a charity dedicated to fighting against antisemitism and racism in British society. They take pride in safeguarding Britain's diverse and vibrant Jewish community and protecting its many achievements. CST believes that reducing antisemitism is crucial in upholding British values and defending society against the threats of extremism and hatred.
Established in 1994, CST is recognized by both the police and the government as a model of best practice. With over 90 full and part-time staff, they provide security advice and training to Jewish communal organizations, schools, and synagogues. CST is responsible for securing over 650 Jewish communal buildings and approximately 1,000 communal events annually.
CST works with the entire Jewish community, from the most religious to the most secular, across the political spectrum, and throughout the whole of the UK. They strive to facilitate Jewish life and place great value on their partnerships with Jewish communities across the country. Leaders in the Jewish community, such as Chief Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis and Rabbi Laura Janner-Klausner, praise the dedication and selflessness of CST staff and volunteers in providing comprehensive protection and a sense of safety and security.
CST's mission is to ensure the physical protection and defense of British Jews, and they actively work to build better relationships across communities to foster tolerance and reduce prejudice. They also share their security knowledge with vulnerable groups outside the Jewish community and empower young people within the Jewish community to live confident and safe lives.
