The Centre for the Study of Violence and Reconciliation (CSVR) is an independent non-governmental organization established in South Africa in 1989. As a multi-disciplinary institute, our goal is to understand and prevent violence, while also healing its effects and building sustainable peace at the community, national, and regional levels. Our work involves research, advocacy, and providing psychosocial support services, all in collaboration with the communities affected by violence.
We aim to enhance state accountability, promote gender equality, and foster social cohesion, integration, and active citizenship.
