About Chinese Text Project
Chinese Text Project is the world's largest digital library of pre-modern Chinese texts. It is an open-access digital library that aims to make these texts accessible to readers and researchers from all around the world. With over thirty thousand titles and more than five billion characters, Chinese Text Project is the largest database of pre-modern Chinese texts available.
The site utilizes the digital medium to explore new ways of interacting with these texts, which are not possible in print. Users can access a wide range of texts, including the pre-Qin and Han period, post-Han era, and various classics. The site also offers useful tools, such as dictionary, discussion forum, library, and wiki, to enhance the user's experience.
Chinese Text Project offers both simplified and traditional Chinese versions, and the site can be switched between Chinese and English languages. This open-access resource welcomes donations and encourages universities to subscribe to support its mission
