Construction Training Fund (CTF) supports the development of a skilled construction and building workforce in Western Australia. It collects a levy on building projects valued at more than $20,000 and uses the funds to support training across the industry. Its programs serve employers, workers, apprentices, students, teachers and parents.
CTF offers eligible employers grants to help offset the cost of training apprentices and trainees, alongside funding for upskilling, short courses, occupational licensing and workplace health and safety training. Apprentices and trainees may be eligible for support such as anniversary-based bonuses, tool and safety equipment reimbursements, and travel and accommodation assistance. Other initiatives include pre-apprenticeship awards, recognition of prior learning and mental health support for eligible construction workers, employers and apprentices.
Through Construction Futures, CTF also helps schools and students explore construction careers with a centre, teacher resources, career tasters and information about training pathways and scholarships. The fund provides industry research, news and guidance on levy requirements, and supports skills innovation and construction-related community initiatives.
