Cultural Care

Cultural Care Au Pair is an au pair program offered by EF Education First that helps young people experience life in the United States while providing childcare for an American host family. The organization supports participants through the process, from learning about program requirements and creating a profile to finding a host-family match and preparing for departure. Its app lets applicants build a profile, connect with families and manage preparations for their au pair year. Cultural Care also offers information sessions, guidance from staff, training and preparation, program details, and stories from current and former au pairs.

The program generally lasts one year, with the possibility of extending for six, nine or twelve months. Participants receive a private room and meals, a weekly stipend paid by their host family, round-trip airfare, two weeks of paid vacation, and an additional month at the end of the term for travel. The package also includes USD 500 toward college classes and a J-1 visa issued by the U.S. Department of State.
