By engaging and involving their citizens, increasing quality of life, sense of belonging and trust, they will be able to make their communities stronger and more resilient. The BSR Cultural Pearls project, co-funded by the EU’s Interreg programme.

About BSR Cultural Pearls

BSR Cultural Pearls is an innovative initiative aimed at strengthening social resilience in municipalities across the Baltic Sea Region. Funded in part by the EU’s Interreg Baltic Sea Region programme, the project recognizes small and medium-sized towns and cities committed to leveraging cultural assets for community empowerment. By promoting citizen engagement and improving the quality of life, BSR Cultural Pearls helps to foster a sense of belonging and trust, vital for creating robust communities.

Participating municipalities undergo a rigorous selection process to develop impactful Culture and Resilience Action Plans, which are recognized through the prestigious BSR Cultural Pearls title. Awardees benefit from a comprehensive Cultural Pearls Programme, engaging in webinars, conferences, and study visits that enhance their capacity to tackle contemporary challenges such as climate change, urbanization, and economic shifts. The network promotes collaboration and shared learning, ensuring that communities not only withstand but thrive in the face of adversity through the transformative power of culture.
