Attachment is my key ingredient – I’m Dr Andrea Oskis and I'm a psychotherapist. But I’m a cook and food writer too. Every dish tells a story.

Cupboard Love is the professional and creative platform of Dr Andrea Oskis, a psychotherapist, cook and food writer. Its central idea is that attachment and close relationships are essential ingredients in fulfilling lives, much as food provides nourishment. Drawing on attachment theory, the site presents relationships as more complex than simply meeting practical needs, and explores how emotional connection supports wellbeing.
Dr Oskis offers counselling and psychotherapy, life and relationship “MOT” sessions, and training, consultancy and supervision. Her work focuses on helping people make positive changes in their lives and relationships. The site also features her book, The Kitchen Shrink, alongside recipes and a blog that connect food with therapy, psychology and research. Each dish is presented as an opportunity to reflect on a memory, story or life lesson, rather than as food alone. Featured recipes include Greek-Japanese two-bean salad, biscotti with Turkish delight and pistachios, and mint and halloumi pesto.
