Curling Plzeň

Curling Plzeň is the public-facing name of Curling club Meteorite z.s., founded in early 2015 as the only curling club in western Bohemia. The club introduces people to curling, a sport that combines strategy, teamwork and the excitement of guiding each stone across the ice. Newcomers are welcome to watch a training session and try playing, making the club accessible to people curious about the sport as well as those seeking regular team activity.

Members train and play league matches mainly in Prague, where most sessions and weekend competitions take place. The club also occasionally uses the ice in Plzeň’s Košutka area. For businesses, Curling Plzeň organizes on-ice teambuilding events designed to bring colleagues together in an engaging atmosphere.

The club competes under the team name Žízniví velbloudi, or Thirsty Camels. Each year, the team takes part in the Czech Men’s Championship and also enters other tournaments, sometimes with mixed lineups. Although the club currently has no women’s team, it warmly welcomes new female players.
