About Curran Apple Orchard
Curran Apple Orchard Park is a 7.33-acre community orchard in University Place, Washington. Established as a hobby orchard in the early 1950s, it now provides a peaceful place for residents and visitors to enjoy nature. More than 200 apple trees represent over 15 varieties, while the orchard also offers food and shelter for birds, bees, small wildlife, and deer.
The orchard’s activities are supported by CORE, the volunteer group associated with its programs and care. Visitors can join guided or self-guided tours, attend summer concerts, and take part in seasonal events such as the annual cider squeeze and Community Harvest Day. The Adopt-A-Tree program gives participants a way to support and care for an apple tree, while educational opportunities include pruning instruction, tree care, and insect education.
Curran Apple Orchard also offers orchard-themed merchandise, including T-shirts and tote bags, and hosts a design contest featuring local artists. Volunteers and donated materials help maintain the trees and facilities, keeping the orchard active as a community gathering place.
