Curtin Karate Club is an adult-focused martial arts club in Perth, Western Australia, established in 1971. It offers structured, recreational karate classes in a welcoming and supportive environment, with beginners encouraged and no previous experience or particular fitness level required. Training follows the Shito-Ryu style and is led by Chief Instructor Eric Ho Sensei, a 7th Dan, alongside experienced assistant instructors.
Classes introduce members to karate fundamentals, including kata and technique, while helping them develop coordination, balance, body awareness, concentration and confidence. The club emphasizes learning, personal development and the deeper principles of karate rather than competition. Its guided approach allows adults to build skills progressively and enjoy a focused break from everyday demands.
Curtin Karate Club invites prospective members to try their first week and experience its training for themselves. The club is based at Perron Place, 61 Kitchener Avenue, Victoria Park, Perth. It also shares information about its story, instructors and member experiences to help newcomers understand what to expect from training.
