The School of Continuing and Professional Studies (CUSCS) serves as a strong link between The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and the community, and we bear CUHK’s mission of providing quality education to fulfill the needs of the community. CUSCS offers a wide range of flexible learning opportunities from general courses, award-bearing programmes to corporate training services, catering to individuals who wish to study for self-enrichment, or to take their studies or career to the next level through enhancing their skills and knowledge. These programmes/courses are offered in face-to-face mode, online/distance learning or even in hybrid, allowing students to learn anytime and anywhere. All our programmes are designed in accordance with the guidelines and standards set by CUHK. Indeed, CUSCS’s high standards of student learning experience has recently been commended in the Quality Audit Report published by the Quality Assurance Council. About School of Continuing and Professional Studies
The School of Continuing and Professional Studies (CUSCS) at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) is dedicated to providing high-quality, professional education. Established in 1965 as the Division of Continuing Education, it was later renamed the School of Continuing and Professional Studies in 1994 and then CUHK's School of Continuing and Professional Studies in 2006. With a mission to serve the community and meet the diverse needs of professionals in Hong Kong, CUSCS offers a wide range of programs and courses.
In the 2021-22 academic year, the school offers 73 academic courses as well as various short-term, distance learning, and corporate training programs. CUSCS offers both short-term and academic courses. Short-term courses range from two to four months and are designed for personal interest or professional development.
Academic courses, which include certificate, diploma, higher diploma, and professional diploma programs, have specific entry requirements and follow the standards of the university to ensure quality education. The school covers a broad range of disciplines, including arts and design, humanities, creative media, music, business and management, accounting and finance, social sciences, career development, applied sciences, language, healthcare, information technology, technology management, and natural and environmental studies. These programs provide qualifications and professional credentials to help individuals enhance their knowledge and skills.
In addition to academic programs, CUSCS also offers a variety of in-service training programs tailored to the needs of organizations in mainland China, Macau, and Hong Kong. CUSCS has a strong reputation for its course design and academic standards. CUSCS collaborates with professional associations, renowned universities both domestically and overseas, and various academic departments within CUHK.
It also provides opportunities for students of advanced diploma programs to participate in exchange programs or further their studies. With its commitment to excellence and a wide range of offerings, CUSCS continues to play a significant role in providing lifelong learning opportunities for individuals in Hong Kong and beyond
