About The College of Veterinarians of Ontario
The College of Veterinarians of Ontario (CVO) is responsible for regulating the delivery of veterinary medicine in Ontario. All veterinarians practicing in the province must be licensed by the College. With a mission to govern the veterinary profession in the public interest, the CVO sets standards to ensure safe and quality veterinary care, inspects and accredits veterinary facilities, investigates concerns about veterinarians and their practice, and administers programs to promote continued competency and growth.
The College licenses over 5,300 veterinarians and accredits more than 2,300 veterinary facilities in Ontario. Committed to transparency, reliability, relevance, independence, compassion, inclusivity, and accountability, the CVO seeks to build public confidence in veterinary regulation.
