College Women's Club of Montclair

The College Women’s Club of Montclair (CWCM) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization advancing equity for women and girls through education, advocacy, and research. Its members are women with post-secondary education who support expanding educational opportunities and helping young women pursue further study. The club provides financial awards to graduating high school seniors and organizes public programs, social gatherings, and opportunities for members to connect, including a Book Club. Programs typically take place monthly from September through June and often feature guest speakers.

CWCM funds its awards chiefly through a volunteer-run, semi-annual used book, movie, and music sale featuring nearly 100,000 donated items. Sale proceeds support students graduating from high schools in Montclair, Bloomfield, Cedar Grove, Verona, and James Caldwell. In 2025, the club allocated $39,000 for awards to 25 students, and it has awarded more than $1.5 million in scholarships since its founding. Donations to award funds are also accepted at the sales.
