Church World Service Lancaster is a faith-based organization that welcomes and supports refugees, immigrants, asylum-seekers, and other uprooted people in Central Pennsylvania. For more than 35 years, it has worked with faith communities, organizations, and individuals to help newcomers find safety, build stability, and create new lives. Its support can extend for up to five years and includes initial resettlement assistance through Reception and Placement and Matching Grant programs.

Services include help securing housing, enrolling children in school, preparing for work, and accessing English-language classes. Integration programs offer extended case management, employment support, and group activities that encourage learning, social connection, and practical skills. CWS Lancaster also provides affordable immigration legal advice and representation through licensed and accredited staff, serving refugees, asylum-seekers, unaccompanied minors, and other immigrants.

Beyond direct services, the organization engages staff, newcomers, and volunteers in advocacy and efforts to strengthen welcome and belonging. Through these programs and community partnerships, CWS Lancaster helps its newest neighbors pursue peace, security, and lasting stability
