About CYAN KENYA
CYAN KENYA is a youth-led Community Based Organization that was established in February 2016. Registered under the ministry of Gender, Children, and Social Services, it focuses on addressing the sexual and reproductive health challenges faced by adolescents and young people in rural communities in Kenya. Their operations mainly cover Suba South and North Sub-Counties in Homa Bay County.
The organization aims to promote the health and development of young people through community health strengthening, research, empowerment, advocacy, and skills and opportunity creation. They strive to create an equitable society where adolescents and young people can enjoy their rights and live with dignity. CYAN KENYA's core values include community-centered partnership, participation, integrity, creativity, equality, justice, and the spirit of volunteerism.
They work towards their mission by providing resources and options to improve access to safe, affordable, and sustainable services in partnership with key stakeholders. Through their various programs, including HIV/AIDS programs, supporting adolescents' health and rights, social norms and SGBV, socio-economic empowerment, and menstrual health management, CYAN KENYA aims to enhance the well-being of young people and facilitate behavioral change at the grassroots level
