About Cycling for Charity サイクリング・フォー・チャリティ
Cycling for Charity is a non-profit organization that aims to make a positive impact on education inequality in Japan. It all began in 2014 when the founder, Yosuke Takahashi, learned about the low graduation rates and high dropout rates among children in foster care during an employee seminar hosted by the NPO Bridge for Smile. Inspired by the resilience of these children, Takahashi organized the first Cycling for Charity project that summer. The project involved long-distance cycling challenges, where supporters could donate funds that would be entirely dedicated to children's education through partnering NGOs.
Since then, the Cycling for Charity community has grown, with over 100 individuals supporting the project annually. In 2019, four children supported by the project participated in a long-distance cycling challenge, experiencing the importance of goal-setting and teamwork. To ensure the sustainability of their efforts, the Cycling for Charity team established the non-profit organization in October 2019.
Their mission is to create a society where all children can freely pursue their dreams and challenge themselves. Join Cycling for Charity on their journey as they strive for a brighter future for every child.
