Coleg y Cymoedd

Coleg y Cymoedd, meaning “college of the valleys,” is a further education college serving learners across four campuses: Aberdare, Nantgarw, Rhondda and Ystrad Mynach. It offers around 400 courses across 22 subject areas, with options ranging from Entry Level to degree-level study and available on a full-time or part-time basis. Provision includes school-leaver courses, adult learning, higher education, apprenticeships and work-based learning, as well as business and training services.

Learners can choose from subjects including A Levels, automotive, business, care and childhood studies, catering and hospitality, computing and IT, construction, creative industries, engineering, health and social care, public services, science, sport, travel and hair and beauty. The college also provides Access to Higher Education, ESOL, foundation learning and commercial courses. Apprenticeship programmes cover areas such as construction, electrical installation, motor vehicles, plumbing, and health and social care. Employers can access apprenticeship support, training, placements and venue services. Campus facilities include specialist learning and training spaces, cafés, restaurants, fitness and wellbeing studios, salons and nurseries.
