Czech Sailing Team is an organisation created to help top Czech sailors pursue the dream of competing at the Olympic Games and winning an Olympic medal. The idea took shape in autumn 2013, when founders Tomáš Vika and Tomáš Kučera established the team to provide a supportive base for athletes on their Olympic journey. Guided by the motto “Ex unitate vires,” meaning “strength through unity,” the organisation focuses on bringing sailors together and helping them develop toward their goals.
Its work centres on three aims: building and supporting a team of young, ambitious and successful sailors; promoting sailing as an Olympic sport; and sharing knowledge and experience from the sport. Through these efforts, Czech Sailing Team seeks to strengthen the sailing community and encourage the next generation of athletes. The organisation is based in Prague and provides a point of contact for people interested in its work. Its website also directs visitors to World Sailing and the Czech Sailing Association for further information about the sport and its governing bodies.
